A man who regards himself
as man of culture should be educated well. Surely there is a consequence from
which I’m about to specify the subject precisely on the realm of academic
institution. This kind of institution is a port where some of us anchored the
future which is not shaped yet. Academic institution is a place where we – as
students – learn something, and assigned by any academic tasks, such as essay
or paper writing.
That is why we know a subject called academic writing, which in broadest sense has differentiated from
non-academic writing. Basically, there is some unique point of which academic
writing will have a business with some items, such as non-plagiarized idea and
writing, order of writing (use of footnote, how to regard other’s writing), and
a method of data processing. When you write something on which you are intended
the writing to be “academic”, those items are surely important to be noticed at
first. Some of us might regard such writing as the one which is “cold”, and
have the intention to provide critical manner.
That is general picture of what we regard today as
academic writing. However, we could also say there is another type of writing,
like essay. This one refers to a style of writing which not entirely academic,
though in some degree academic method could be applied on that kind of writing.
Writing an essay,
then, is something that has the similarities with previous type of writing.
